Enroll your child in this recreational, non-competitive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) & No-Gi Submission Wrestling (Luta Livre) program at Vieira Martial Arts. Kids ages 3 1/2 to 6 years old can enroll, which focus on motor skills, socialization, engaging in fun games, and foster a sense of martial arts camaraderie. Gi classes on Tuesdays and No-Gi classes on Wednesdays from 4:15 to 5 PM.
How does the class work? There is not much competition in this class. While they play quick grappling games, we create an atmosphere where the kids feel safe and at ease. Presuming they are in a 'playground' where children are free to play and develop new abilities and motor skills, parents should act as though they are there. Parents are advised to remain near the mat, or even on it (if needed). It should not be necessary to ask permission in order to grab their children, give them extra love when needed, give them water, or take them to the bathroom. Teachers and parents collaborate in this class. Meet other parents who share a passion for martial arts over a cup of coffee.
